As the cruise comes to an end the seismic streamer and air cannons are deployed for the last time - Multibeam continues mapping the Bay of Biscay sea floor and Chirp is still chirping - Last night's grab comes up empty.

| Day 12 - What happened to the storm? |
The storm that everyone was talking about yesterday never seemed to materialise, instead today was a beautiful day. I even ended up sunbathing on the foredeck. Scampi and Calypso are deployed possibly for the last time this cruise.

| Day 11 - A quiet day |
Or is it the calm before the storm? It seems very quiet on board the Pourquoi pas? today with only Chirp and Multibeam working. There is a slight swell but maybe everyone is waiting for bad weather to come which is forecast to hit us this evening.

| Day 6 - SCAMPI goes astray |
Last night another core approximately 12m long was recovered by Calypso and SCAMPI was deployed at around 10.30pm and again this afternoon when it was reluctant to come back. The weather is about to change as a depression is forecast for the Bay of Biscay as we head for a new station.

| Day 3 - early results |
Another fine morning with clear skies. However, with the Pourquoi pas? sailing at around 8 knots the wind felt quite strong and was very bracing as I stood on the front deck of level seven looking for the dolphins.
